MMA has become very popular recently with the success of organisations like the UFC but here at the academy we have always been practising a mixed and multi style approach to training since we opened back in 2001.

Instructors have always looked into other styles of martial arts and combat, styles such as Judo and Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Wing Chun Kung Fu and Filipino martial arts.

More recently Jamie Woodlands Black Belt Academy has formed collaborations with top wrestling coaches and Black Belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors to bring students the best training in all aspects of MMA.

We are very excited and fortunate to have world champion and Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Salvatore Pace heading up our MMA program. He has a wealth of knowledge in this field and his grappling skills are second to none. He is also experienced in Muay Thai and boxing so for anyone getting into mma for just the training or to step into the octagon, we have one of the finest coaches in the country.

We call our MMA team-Optimum Mixed Martial Arts.

Whether you want to train MMA for fitness, to de-stress by hitting the pads or to compete, you can be assured that the instructors will motivate and support you every step of the way.

Again at the academy we feel that the most important aspect of MMA is respect and discipline.

Respect for our training partners will help us to become the best we can be and when training becomes tough and we dedicate ourselves to training on a regular basis, we build self-discipline.
